In lieu of a hike this weekend, the Hiking with Fido team will be at the German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County annual reunion, also known as Rockoberfest.

If you don't know the German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County, you should. They help place disowned German Shepherd dogs in the Southern California area. This organization is run by volunteers whose passion devotes to this hard working breed, known for its courage and intelligence.
The organization carefully screens all adopters, including a home check and a pledge that if the adopter is no longer able to care for the dog, they must contact the rescue to return the dog. They plan activities (such as Rockoberfest) which encourages adopters to keep dogs socialized.
This year's theme is focusing on Health and Wellness. Hiking with Fido is honored to be invited to this year's event and promote the principles of a sustaining an active and social lifestyle for our canine companions by providing venues where dogs and their humans can participate.
